The idea came to us during the second lockdown. Using this time to good effect, we built a planter with recycled wooden boards. We then filled it with a potting soil of our own making, using topsoil, organic compost and perlite.
The last step of the project involved making our own seedlings. We carefully selected our seeds at the Co-operative Agricultural Federation in Goodlands, neighbouring village of the North of Mauritius.
A selection of aromatic herbs and vegetables are now growing in our 100% responsible Ecogarden. Parsley, coriander, thyme, rocket, basil, tomatoes, brèdes, spring onions…
All from our little garden and straight to your plate!
